Chuck later explained how he and his son Jonathan (the field director of OMS Hungary) got involved with the building project. I saw through this story that this was God’s marvelous plan for all of us to be involved. They asked me if I could help in the next stage of the building the following September, and with great pleasure, I said yes. The Lord put this project on my heart from the moment I heard about it.

In September, the Lord blessed our progress yet again and by the end of the week, the siding was nearly finished. We only had one last bit to complete. The opening ceremony was on our last day of work; the excited village gathered together, thanked us, and celebrated God’s goodness. Finally, their long-standing dream of having their own church became real. How they praised the Lord! His is the glory and is worthy of all our thankfulness.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

– Matthew 5:16

Last December, we traveled to the village for a day with my nephew, brother-in-law and Laci Khaled (head of the Hungarian Methodists) to finish the siding on the last wall. Since the winter weather was severe, we couldn’t do everything we wanted, but we all rejoiced that we could work and serve together for God’s kingdom and glory.

With Chuck and Jonathan we made plans to do more outdoor and indoor work in May. This included finishing the siding and installing indoor insulation and electricity. I set off to meet them with much joy and anticipation in my heart. I knew the Lord’s blessing was on the project as well as on us involved in the building work. Once again, the weather was chilly, rainy, windy—unusual for May— but the kindness of the people, the hearty breakfasts together, the evening devotions, and God’s presence kept us warm and we could finish what He started. Who can stop the Lord Almighty?!

I am grateful to the Lord that He gave me the opportunity to be part of making this dream a reality for many and that He invited and equipped me to build His Holy House with others.

I am grateful to the Lord that we could meet with new people in the village and from its surrounding areas. I am grateful that we could talk to them about Jesus and we could shine His light to them.

I am grateful for Jonathan, who got wisdom and insight from the Lord on how to run and complete this task.

I am grateful for Chuck, whose strength, deep faith, and wisdom in the Lord minister to me every time we meet.

I pray that our good God would fill the chapel with faithful, righteous, fervent people and I ask the Holy Spirit to start a revival in that place!

All praises be to the One and Only Living God who lives in Szentmargitfalva!

May Jesus’s abundant blessings richly fill and fall upon all of you.

He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.
